best...city... everrrrrr

alright where do i start...

well work is cool so far, the coolest parts are definately...

  1. having clients like COSMO, VOGUE, ELLE MAGAZINE, IN STYLE, STUFF, JANE, ALLURE ...any magazine you can possibly think of..

  2. seeing our stuff in the actual magazine is so rewarding...

3. directly dealing with the samples worn by various celebs in the photoshoots including rachel bilson, lindsay lohan, ellen pompeo, rihanna, etc. I send in and receive the samples to them- See those black foil leggings that she's wearing? I touched those.. those exact ones. haha.

4. working with other awesome interns from Cali and New York

5. working near 5th ave is incredible!

6. getting to dress trendy-casual

7. getting perks. discount off the collection, business lunches/bridal showers/bday parties in our wellness cafe, getting free concert tickets, magazines.

8. I have access to almost every editor/stylists email and phone number (sometime's even cell #)

and yah, theres nothing much more to say thats THAT great about work... really.

Being in the city is just incredible. This past week I've gotten to go to a METS game (they won 8-1, with the help of our old friend, CARLOS DELGADO!), seen a musical (the pirate queen), had a fathers day bbq and swim in Long Island, took a walk in Central Park which is the absolute most romantic place on earth!!!, drove down to Atlantic City for a weekend and totally fell in love with it, enjoyed happy hour after work at a bar in TIMES SQUARE...pinch me i must be dreaming.

There's me and my (crazy) uncle bill at the mets game..this is a picture taken by one of the ushers at the game and they post it on the mets website afterwards for you to buy...hence why there is a big letter F in my face...

Here's a pic of me in chinatown...haha

Anyways, was the update satisfying? hhehe. Definately more to come and more PICTURES to come once I get them on my computer!

Thanks for tuning in!

In the city

So my journey began on a scorching saturday when euge drove me down to Buffalo early in the morning - did a little shopping at the outlets, got myself a coach purse at the coach outlet for an amazing price! :D, dropped by the Galleria for some food and headed to the International Buffalo Airport by 6pm. After hearing about the bomb threat in JFK, i called in to jetblue and confirmed my flight was still running, but just a little late, no biggie! It was my first time on the plane by myself! It wasn't bad, short flight, only an hour long and they even had TV for each of us in front of our seats! Tuned into some TLC and the food network, and before I knew it, we were ready to land! Seeing the city from up there is amazing! All the lights and hustle and bustle - even in the late evening..got me a little excited. Got picked up by my Uncle Bill and later met his wife, two girls (ah so cute, i love them already) Auntie Bing (whose house im staying at). *note that these are distant relatives, i dont even know really how we're related! But they treated me like their own. Had some authentic pho for late supper, headed to do a bit of shopping the next day in Brooklyn for essentials, ie. a straightening iron lol.

Started my first day of work today and let me tell you, LC's job on the hills is not that fun. That's why they only show the fun parts on the show like her going to fashion shows. Anyway its only the first day, hopefully it'll get alot funner. I do exactly what LC does, steam clothes, put clothes away, update outstanding samples, blah blah..sorry if you dont watch the hills, its just that I can relate so well to it now. I also have a 'whitney'...another intern thats from San Diego, Cali and started with me aswell today. This is actually the first day for a couple of interns, I'm in the PR department, and right beside us is fashion. It's a pretty small company, the store is pretty big though - that 's on the main floor of our building. Go check it out if you ever go to ny! 11w 56th St..! I work in a nice area..its close to central park and has tons of really nice clothing stores, not to mention a 2 second walk from the Trump tower!

New York is very similar to Toronto, but at the same time very different. Well its only my first day so my opinion of this city will further develop..and EVERYONE has the new yorker accent...and its heavy. I'm slowly learning the crazy subway system, I made it home myself today alright!

Anyway, im looking forward to getting to know the city more, I just wish I had family or significant other (lol) here to share it with. It's weird adjusting to a new lifestyle, new friends, and just...everything! I'm in good hands though.

OK signing off, day two awaits me! =/
