to the armpit of america and back

BUFFALO, otherwise known as the "armpit of america" or as i call it, the place where 'shopping dreams come true' is where i spent my american thanksgiving weekend...and all my money in that case..

it was good times... went to the usual prime outlets, boulevard mall, walden galleria and stayed over in a very nice 2.5 stars (which is almost 3 stars!) suite-style hotel in downtown buffalo 5 min away from the HSBC centre where a sabres game was playing that night. Buffalo is such a dead city though, its really outdated and looks liek a ghost town for the majority of it..i guess the shopping makes up for it?

prime outlets hit an all time low for me, i left there empty handed. euge got a couple xmas gifts from eddie bauer. the coach outlet had really good discounts, i even found a nice bag for $110 US but it just wasn't perfect so that was a no-go. also theres this store called "LABELS" in that mall and it holds brands like lacoste, juicy, armani exchange, etc. I found oh so pretty Rock and Republic jeans there for $80 US and then later found out that they were all FAKE! fake fake fake! talk about disapointment

We reached Boulevard mall and decided to check out an eyeliner at Chanel in Macys. The girl at the counter decided to put it on me, and ended up doing my entire face - foundation, press powder, eye shadow, eye liner, mascara, blush, lip liner and lipstick with a finish of gloss on top of the lipstick!! Ohmy goodness eh! im guessing she was really bored standing behind that counter all day and didn't realize that ppl had lives to attend to..i was stuck. stuck sitting there letting her play with my face when i had major shopping to do

.. So this girl had bright turqouise eye liner and shadow on and she suggested to put it on my face, when i told her that i usually prefer NEUTRAL colours. but shes insisted on her way. what happened to catering to your clients? she spent literally like half an hour or more on me and told me not to peak til the end. how exciting.
anyway after sitting there for forever having her retouch the lip liner a million times (literally) she finnally finishes and hands me the mirror. and i was thinking this whole time it must look not look that bad since she kept making comments like "oh yaa you'll relaly like it." and a woman that usually buys from her came by and was like "oh yaa thats gorgeous, just amazing..you'll relaly like it". and even euge was trying to be polite and saying " oh yaa its actually not bad its nice". i take one look at the mirror and i look like a clown gone wrong. and she was standing there looking at me waiting for a response and i dind't know what to say..my eyes were turquoise, and my lips...they were like bright bright purple and sooo shiny and wet looking. i was like " oh wow the lipstick, its really bold" and she was like "ya doesn't it look great?" and i was thinking who in there right mind would think this looks good..so either she doesn't like me and wants to embarrass me or she actually really does think it looks good. maybe it'll look ok for the runway..but definately not ok for every day life wear...esp anywhere public, like a mall. she was a really nice girl though, so im sure she had good intentions even though she's never been to make-up school and is starting in january.. im so mean >.<>

at walden galleria my luck turned around and found a pair of skinny seven7 jeans for an amazing low price at macy*s! i think that the price was a mistake, since all the other ones were regular priced...and they just so happened to be my size! lucky number seven... :D

after that we headed back to canada dropping by at the Festival of Lights display at Niagra Falls on the way.. howww roooomantic!!

i can't believe we didn't (really) get lost once...with ME being the navigator. shocking, i know.

so i came back with:

  • bath and body works lip balm and Japanese cherry blossom body lotion
  • a pair of tall classic uggs
  • vest from ann taylor
  • cardigan for my mommy from anne taylor (since its her favorite store)
  • long sleeve a&f tee
  • a pair of seven skinny jeans
  • a very pretty top from Macys

the prices i'm going to hold a secret...unless you want to ask me yourself. i had such a materialistic weekend ...going shopping only left me wanting more.. shame on me, shame on me. shame on me esp becuase me roomate sabrina came back from a conference in London being inspired to start fundraising on campus for aids clinics in africa...and all i can think about it that coach bag in the above picture. im so ugly on the insides. (>.<)

>well to end off this post i would like to make a bday shout out to "EEEK KNALL" otherwise known as e loo (thats how you pronounce his name in canto. rofl its so gross sounding) im currently planning this huge steak and shrimp dinner for him tomrow with avacado stuffed eggs for appetizers and strawberries and chocolate and cream for dessert? still in the planning...wish me luck i've never used a george foreman before...

sorry for the incredibly long and babbling post...well thats what blogs are anyway... where people can babble on for many paragraphs about their own lives... i wonder who actually enjoy reading these things. i just like writing them. :)

everyone is allowed to rant once in a while

here goes..sorry if it gets ugly ...maybe you shouldn't read it if you're sensitive. haha

Things that I Really Can't Stand: (no particular order)
  1. RUDE PEOPLE. this is the number one thing i can't stand in a person.this category can consist of strangers or ppl who you've know for years. its unattractive, disrespectful, selfish, conceited and downright ugly. i can't stand being around rude people it just makes me so angry inside..Rudeness covers so many things it probably even covers all the points below. This includes people who are ignorant, selfish, careless, conceited, stuckup, talks to you whenever they feel like it, people who judge, people who have something against you but is too chicken to say it to your face and resolve it, people who reply with one-word-replies on msn, people who go out of their way to be mean, or is just plain mean..etc.
  2. Friends who don't try. I think everyone can relate...if you put so much time in a friendship and don't see anythign in return...it makes you rethink how much this person values it in the first place.
  3. Unavailable/unreachable people to the extreme that you literally cannot squeeze a minute of talk with them.
  4. Annoying people. haha ok that was mean. let me clarify myself, i didn't mean like annoying people like people who don't have social skills so it feels like a battle when you try to converse with them; but i meant like people who say the wrong things at the wrong time, or people who aren't responsible (ie. they never do the dishes or contribute to a project), people who just take and never give, or just people that don't really care about anyone else that everything they do is only to benefit themselves. I find those traits annoying.

but on the brighter side, this is What I Adore in a Person:

  1. people who spend quality time with you - becuase they care enough about you to take time off their busy schedule to see what is going on in your life.
  2. people who have a big heart. Do i have the right to say that im a good judge of heart? haha cuz i think i do. i think i can tell who has a good heart. i can see it through their actions and words. Heartless people includes people who can never forgive and forget, people who knows they're hurting someone through their actions/words yet doesn't care..etc
  3. people who are selfless. how many people do things just to benefit their own good? for social status, popularity, or career purposes...? People who best exemplifies selflessness are mommy, daddys and ofcourse grandparents :)
  4. people who care for others. Even if we don't know each other well, its always great to see your face or have a short talk. Even if we don't know each other well, you still seem to rememebr my name and a bit about me..ie. my school and program and care enough to ask me how my life is going. Even if we don't know each other well, you go out of your way to say HI :) Even if we don't know each other at all, its so nice to exchange a smile or nod, or to open a door for each other. Its nice to small talk even though we don't know each other. Its nice to see people put an effort to get to know you! If i have a problem, you genuinely put time in helping me out and solving my issues instead of leaving it to myself to fix it.
  5. People who have alot of love going on. Friends/family who give you a constant reminder about how much they love you, miss you and appreciate you! :)
