todays msg

tim's message was relly great today, maybe cause it relly spoke to me. it seems like i've been relly relating to many of his messages lately.

he talked about stopping and reflecting in life. sometimes u're too busy to just stop and see how God is working in your life, or just how He's part of it in every situation, no matter how irrelevant it may seem.

this summer it just felt that i was just relly.. i guess distant from God and all. i guess a major thing with me is that once i do'nt get myself involved, the drive and ambition is hard to come by. anyway..so after tim told us to take a moment to reflect about our past week, at first i was like..man..work work and more work. hours of work, getting to work, and back home from work. so at first my conclusion about my week was ...man, a nice long week before school starts, and i'm using it up all for one thing. what a waste of time.

then, i thought abotu it some more and then i realised that even tho i was busy busy busy with everything else BUT church stuff, God still poked into my life somehow, someway.

i saw Him when i met this old man Ron working at the bus station. through Ron He taught me that strangers can become instant friends. that trust doesn't have to be earned. that extending some grace is a gift, no one deserves it; we just receive it.

i saw Him when this drunk guy sat beside me on the subway home. through that guy, He taught me that we don't have to live in fear. that we are ALL equally undeserving of grace. no matter where each of us comes from, God puts us back in our place. we're ALL sinful in His eyes.

i guess he shows up in different ways. not necessarily just during fello or at church, or at a prayer meeting... he shows up in EVERY aspect of your life. you can turn anything in your life into a mission field. going to sandwich runs during fello when you're younger only prepares you to develop a righteous heart to serve and to love others. take that and use it ALL THE TIME. don't wait til friday nights. put it into practice. why do it only when the time comes? why extend grace when we're given the opportunity to?

for me, i think God reveals himself the most to me through strangers. just random people you bump into in the street or what not. i LOVE it when i'm on the bus, and i see someone offering their seat to someone else. small stuff like that shows the goodness in people. i believe that everyone has goodness in their hearts, its a matter of putting it to use.

to be continued...

it goes like this...

have you ever put something somewhere, turn away for like 3 seconds, turn back and have it completely disappear. and you find urself on your knees looking for it every possible place it could be..but its just no where to be found? events like these have been boggling my head for years now.

its happened to objects like the household key, myfavourite pair of earrings, numerous hair ties, matching socks, report cards, remote controls, cordless phones, friend's clothes, my batting gloves!... but nothing could hurt more than losing my $600 cheque.

yes. $600. rounded DOWN 600.

so in conclusion, i have proposed a theory that i'm sure you've heard many times, but i just want to say that i'm a walking and living TESTIMONY for this theory.

the theory goes like this:

THINGS LIKE TO GROW LEGS AND WALK AWAY
yea? yaaa. dayam right they do. especially MY stuff. it makes complete sense. some walk away faster than others, and some objects walk alot more often than others. its that simple. speaking of which, my phone just happened to just walk away right this second. i don't see it anywhere...i swear it was on my bed or my desk just 2 seconds ago... o.0
lets just hope that cheque of mine decides to walk back where i left it..
god im such an idiot.
